3/25/05 The 1College Project officially commenced this month with the campus-wide kickoff event on February 8. Work on the project actually began in November of last year, and significant progress has already been made. The Student and Faculty Administrative Services portion of the project is scheduled for testing in the fall of 2005, with training for users also taking place in the fall. We plan to switch to the new system in December of 2005. We need your help to ensure that the new system will support the work you do as faculty members. The following table summarizes some of the capabilities of the new system that are particularly relevant to faculty:
The success of the 1College Project depends on users helping shape the design of the system. Faculty participation is particularly critical to ensure that the system supports the administrative needs of faculty. To gather feedback from faculty and support staff, we have scheduled facilitated discussion groups during the Thursday Departmental Common Hour (12 pm – 1:15 pm) on the following days: Open: March 24 As you can see, we plan to hold discussions by division. Please plan to attend and bring your department’s staff associate. It will be a great opportunity to ask questions and provide input to the project. An email will soon be sent asking you to sign-up for the appropriate session. The location will be determined. We will continue to keep you informed of our progress throughout the project. And, there will be additional opportunities for faculty to participate in the design and testing of the system later in the calendar year. Thank you,
